Wish You Were Here!

With this postcard series, I explored connection as a theme, with travel as a recurring motif. Often times people want to share their new experiences with others that they might be physically far away from. Sending and receiving physical mail is often seen as more thoughtful nowadays in a digital age, more sentimental. This project combined a sense of nostalgia with vibrant colors, making use of half-tones which were common in older print media.

The designs created are relatively calm rhythm-wise, with commonly used establishing shots to evoke a sense of familiarity. The artwork itself was done in a somewhat graphic style to unify the series. Each postcard has a back design that complements the shape language present in the corresponding art piece.
